The Patriots U18 team currently sits in first place in the U18 National standings as they’ve gone 3-0 for the season so far. The squad has put up 8 goals in their three games so far this season and allowed only two.
Head Coach Ryan Dooley attributes the team’s recent success to their ability to play as a cohesive unit with the same goal in mind.
“When you get a locker room full of guys with the same goals and the same mindsets, everything seems to come together,” said Dooley.
The Patriots have shut out their opponents the past two weekends shutting out the Lovell Knights U18 squad 2-0 and 3-0, and opened up their season play with a 3-2 win over the 95 Giants.
“Our squad has various players from all over. We’re extremely lucky to have each and every one of them. The next step is to get into their high school season with the confidence they build from playing in this league. Our team has a lot of fun throughout the fall but the goal at the end of the season is to be better than before. So for now we will focus on our skill development and game preparations to ensure the most success wherever they may end up this winter,” said Dooley.
Coach Dooley said his main focus is developing his players and making sure they learn from every shift and every play.
“My job is easy, I make sure to provide these guys a high tempo, competitive practice while they just need to show up for games in the right state of mind. Every game and every shift is a learning experience for these young players, so we all make sure to constantly learn from one another to build off off mistakes and successes,” said Dooley.
The Patriots look to continue the win streak in their upcoming contest against the 95 Giants this coming Saturday October 6 in Attleboro. Puck drop is at 8:30 am.
