ELITE 9 HAS STRONG REPRESENTATION IN THE USHL DRAFT

Congratulations to our Elite 9 players on their recent selection in the USHL Draft. A total 9 players associated with Elite 9 Prep Showcase league were drafted in the USHL this past spring. The Elite 9 prep continues to showcase New England’s best talent on the ice having THE MOST DRAFTED from any league in the Northeast and Massachusetts. This was once again proven at the 2022 USHL Futures Draft in Phase 1.

What is the USHL?

The USHL is a Premier United States hockey league a Tier I top junior hockey league consisting of the player between the age of 16-21. Often, the league is a step towards DI colleges and professional careers.

Theo Kiss, from  Kosice, SVK, was selected as the 16th overall pick, the 16 year old was selected to the  Des Moines Buccaneers. Kiss was impressive for Mount St. Charles Academy after spending his 2020-21 and 2021-22 with the program. Posting over 82 total points in 54 games played. Keirnan Poulin, from Norwell, MA, was selected 19th overall by the Waterloo Black Hawks. Poulin has played with the Boston Advantage since 2017 and established himself as a premier player at the USA Hockey camps. Andrew O’Sullivan, from Norwell, MA, select 33rd overall by the Green Bay Gamblers. A lengthy defenseman for the Boston Advantage, O’Sullivan has been selected for USA Hockey National Camps. JJ Monteiro, from Hudson, MA, drafted 64th overall by the Waterloo Black hawks. Monteiro had an impressive 2021-22 season for Mount St. Charles Academy, playing 56 games with 36 goals and 40 assists. Ronnie Hill, from Saco, ME, drafted 66th overall by Cedar Rapid RoughRiders. Hill participated in USA Hockey camps and had a solid 2021-22 campaign racking up a total of 101 points over 72 games played with the Seacoast PA Spartans. Jack Montaldo, from Commack, NY, drafted 96th overall by Cedar Rapid RoughRiders. A Mount St. Charles Academy defenseman, Montaldo has been invited to USA Hockey camps and enjoyed a 36 points regular season. Chase Stefanek, from Yorba Linda, CA, selected 103rd overall by Sioux City Musketeers. Stefanek contributed significantly to the Mount St. Charles offense piling up 71 total points over 56 games. Luke Gallo, form Melville, NY, drafted in the Round 10 overall 122 by Omaha Lancers. Gallo managed to contribute a point in 40 of 50 total games played. Deke Davidson, from  New market, NH, selected Round 10 overall  141 by Cedar Rapids RoughRiders. Davidson was a significant playmaker for the Seacoast PA Spartan in 2022-23 with 55 assists in 72 games played.
