Advantage and Icemen undefeated in Presidents Day tournaments

The Elite 9 Hockey league would like to congratulate the Middlesex Icemen 2013 Elite and the Boston Advantage 2015 Elite on bringing home the hardware over the Presidents Day weekend! 

The 2013 Middlesex Icemen represented the Elite 9 well, dominating at the CCM Boston Invite. They went unblemished in the tournament with a 6-0 record. Starting out the tournament on Saturday with a win against the CT Jr. Whalers 11-1. Later that day, they defeated the Ashburn Xtreme 8-3. The Icemen had two shutouts on Sunday with a 12-0 win over the Dynamo HC and a 12-0 win over Casco Bay Mariners. In the semifinals, they went head-to-head with Ashburn Xtreme again, this time winning 11-1. The Iceman faced the undefeated Tampa Bulls in the finals. The Icemen capped off the undefeated with a 9-3 victory over the Tampa Bulls. The Icemen’s netminder was a brick wall all weekend recorded two shutouts on the weekend, and the team outscored their opponents 68 to 8!   

The 2015 Elite Boston Advantage took home the Championship at the IHT-Presidents Day Ice Hockey Tournament in Hooksett, NH. They also won in dominant fashion with a 5-0 undefeated tournament weekend. The Advantage picked up their first win of the tournament with a 6-1 victory over the East Coast Wizards on Friday. They picked up their second win of the tournament with a 6-0 shutout over the Seacoast Spartans. They faced the Mighty Knights (South Shore Knights) on Sunday with a 7-1 victory and quickly turned around to face them again in the semifinals on Monday. The Advantage defeated the Mighty Knights (South Shore Kings) in the semifinals with a 7-2 final score. The Advantage finished off the tournament beating the East Coast Wizards in the finals shutting them out 6-0. Completing their unblemished 5-0 weekend. The Advantage relied on great play from their goaltender and defense allowing just 4 goals in the 5-game tournament.  They were impressive outscoring opponents 32 to 4!
